Accessibility statement

The National Geographic Institute is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with Royal Decree 1112/2018 of 7 September on the accessibility of public sector websites and applications for mobile devices.

This accessibility statement applies to the website nationalatlas.ign.es and excludes content from other domains.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with Royal Decree 1112/2018 due to certain exceptions and non-compliance of some aspects.

Non-accessible content

1. Non-compliance with Royal Decree 1112/2018

This website presents some non-accessible elements according to the following aspects of the UNE-EN 301549:2019 standard, considering the exceptions of RD 1112/2018:

  • Provide text alternatives for any non-text content.
  • Information, structure, and relationships conveyed through presentation can be programmatically determined or are available in text.
  • All functionality of the content is operable through a keyboard interface without requiring specific timings for individual keystrokes, except where the underlying function requires input that depends on the path of the user's movement and not just the endpoints.
  • The purpose of each link can be determined from the link text alone or from the link text together with its programmatically determined link context, except where the purpose of the link would be ambiguous to users in general.
  • Any keyboard operable user interface has a mode of operation where the keyboard focus indicator is visible.
  • If an input error is automatically detected and suggestions for correction are known, then the suggestions are provided to the user, unless it would jeopardize the security or purpose of the content.
  • In content implemented using markup languages, elements have complete start and end tags, elements are nested according to their specifications, elements do not contain duplicate attributes, and any IDs are unique, except where the specifications allow these features.

2. Disproportionate load

Not applicable.

3. Content not considered within the scope of the applicable legislation.

Royal Decree 1112/2018 establishes in its Article 3.4 the causes for exclusion from application of said Royal Decree and among them, in its letter D, the following is found:

Online mapping and cartography services, provided that the essential information is provided in a digitally accessible form in the case of maps intended for navigation.

Consequently, the cartography included in some pages published on this website is excluded from the scope of application of Royal Decree 1112/2018.
